Hi. My name is Shannon and I'm the founder of Happy Cakes 4
Kids. As the mother of five wonderful little kids, I know the
importance of the simple things in life.
As adults, we are most often engrossed in our own 'big world'
scenarios. How quickly we forget what it is like to be a child.
Children see the world through a very different vantage point. A
vantage point revolving around simple milestones such as
Christmas, Halloween and their next birthday. I can still remember
how important each and every birthday was to me. Each birthday
was not only a milestone in my development, but an opportunity to
be 'queen for a day' .
Imagine for a moment what it must be like for a child who is
anticipating their next birthday, but who's life has unexpectedly
been thrown into crisis through economic strife, a natural disaster
or domestic abuse.
Conversely, as a parent I know how hard it is sometimes to 'pull it
all together'. For a parent who's life has just been turned
upside-down, it must be virtually impossible.
This is where we come in. Call us your local 'Birthday Rescue'
squad!!
We at Happy Cakes 4 Kids are working with local homeless
shelters and women's shelters to help-out with the 'simple
things'.....things that may seem so simple to us, but are so very
important to our little people.
It is my personal wish that each and every child we reach through
Happy Cakes 4 Kids will one day look back at this time of their
lives not as 'the time that I spent my birthday in a homeless
shelter", but as "the birthday when I got the coolest cake EVER!"
Sometimes it's the simplest things that make the
